Dr. Loftin was born and raised in Monroe, Louisiana where he grew up with many different pets over the years. After graduating from Neville High School in Monroe, he moved down to Baton Rouge to attend Louisiana State University where he received a bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology. While applying for veterinary school, Dr. Loftin spent time working with a local dog rescue organization in Baton Rouge while also working as an Animal Care Coordinator at a small animal veterinary clinic in town. Dr. Loftin was accepted to the LSU School of Veterinary Medicine in 2015 and decided to focus his studies on companion animal medicine. Dr. Loftin graduated from the LSU SVM with honors in May of 2019. He enjoys many aspects of veterinary medicine but his favorite areas of study include Dermatology, Internal Medicine, Preventative Medicine, and Dentistry.
When he isn’t working, Dr. Loftin loves spending time outdoors with his lovely wife, Melissa, and his two dogs, Maverick and Blue. Dr. Loftin is also very passionate about his sports. He is a huge LSU sports fan (especially LSU football) and also loves the sport of soccer.
